Как сообщает телеканал Haber Global, решение было принято на 12-м партийном съезде, проходившем с 5 по 7 мая. В ходе съезда было также объявлено о прекращении боевых действий против Турции.
Этот шаг последовал после призыва к роспуску, который в феврале озвучил лидер PKK Абдулла Оджалан, находящийся в турецкой тюрьме с 1999 года.
